1. Deleting Your Account
You can request deletion of your eGreen account at any time. Account deletion removes your ability to sign in and use the Service, ends your active sessions, and clears the personal credentials and notification details associated with your account.
2. How to Request Deletion
The fastest way to delete your account is directly inside the eGreen mobile app:
If you cannot access the app — for example, you no longer have your device or cannot sign in — you can request deletion by emailing legal@egreen.global from the email address registered to your account. Use the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the phone number registered to your account so we can locate it. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request.
- Open the eGreen app and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Select Delete Account and follow the confirmation steps.
3. What We Need — and What We Never Ask For
To process a deletion request we only need enough information to identify your account, such as your registered name, email address, or phone number.
- We will never ask for your password or a one-time passcode (OTP).
- We will never ask for your BVN, NIN, or other identity document numbers to delete your account.
- We will never ask for wallet, bank account, or card details to delete your account.
4. What Deletion Does
When your account is deleted:
- You can no longer sign in to the eGreen app with that account.
- Your active sessions and sign-in credentials are terminated on all devices.
- Push notification and onboarding tokens linked to the account are removed.
- Your account is marked as deleted and excluded from normal use of the Service.
5. What Is Retained
Some records must be retained after account deletion where required by financial-services regulation, tax, anti-fraud, and legal obligations. As described in our Privacy Policy, transaction and identity records may be retained for the period required by law — typically up to seven (7) years — after which data is deleted or anonymised.
Records that may be retained include payment and wallet transaction history, contracts and signed documents, debt and repayment records, and audit logs necessary for regulatory compliance and dispute resolution.
6. Outstanding Obligations
Deleting your account does not cancel or settle outstanding obligations under an active vehicle contract, loan, debt, or repayment arrangement, which are governed by their own terms. If you have an active contract or outstanding balance, please contact us before requesting deletion so we can explain how your obligations are affected.
